For full specs and pictures go to www.hoyachtsales.com "Morgan Marie" is a beautifully kept example of the superb Viking 44 Motor Yacht. In fact, she is likely the finest example of this model available anywhere. Power is provided by a pair of Johnson & Tower 6-71 TIB 485hp diesel engines, which will cruise the boat comfortable at 20 knot. AC power comes from an Onan 8kw generator in a sound shield. One of the hallmarks of a Viking is the quality and attention to detail given the interior woodwork. This vessel is one of approximately 20 of the last generation of the 44 MY's and features an upgraded teak interior that is in beautiful condition. The interior layout features a very comfortable salon with galley and dinette down. Foward is a guest stateroom with an island double berth, head and stall shower. A master stateroom is aft with an island marine queen and private en-suite head. (Also note that the vessel is equiped with a full size refrigerator/freezer and a Kenmore stackable washer & dryer.) Topsides, there is a covered aft deck with wet bar; a comfortable bridge deck with seating for 8; and an 11' Avon RIB with 30hp Yamaha O/B and Marquip electric davit mounted on the bow. From the bridge to the bilge, the condition of this boat is outstanding.
The current owner purchased the vessel in 1998 from the original owner and has lovingly kept and maintained the boat for the last 13 years. Mechanically, cosmetically and structurally, this boat is as nice as you will find anywhere. If you are in the market for a pristine Viking 44 MY, "Morgan Marie" is truly a must-see. Please feel free to contact directly with any questions or to setup a showing.

Manufacturer Model History
The Viking Yacht Company is a family owned business, established in 1964 in New Jersey. The Healey family has overseen the growth of the company from a small regional builder, making wooden fishing boats, to one of the premier powerboat manufacturers in the world, building the finest high-tech fiberglass fishing and cruising yachts available anywhere at any price. The company has built it's reputation on superior quality, enduring designs, extraordinary sea-keeping ability and outstanding customer service. The 44 Motor Yacht was first introduced in 1982 as a replacement for the 43 Motor Yacht. Production for the 44 MY ran from 1982 until 1990, when the 10% luxury tax badly crippled the industry and ultimately caused the demise of the boat. Originally, the model was built at the New Jersey facility, but with Viking's purchase of Gulfstar in 1987, production of the 44 MY was eventually moved to the west coast of Florida, to the newly acquired facility. It was during this period that Viking took advantage of the expert woodworkers at the Florida plant and updated the boat's interior giving the vessel a more modern and sophisticated look. "Morgan Marie" is one of the last of the twenty 44 MY's built and features the updated teak interior.
Hull Design and Construction
Viking Yachts are known world-wide for their outstanding offshore performance which is a direct result of superb hulls designs and excellent construction techniques. The foundation for a Viking 44 Motor Yacht is her variable deadrise, modified-V hull configuration which features a deep fore-foot at the bow and 15.5 degrees of deadrise at the transom. Aggressive reversed chines do a remarkable job of keeping spray off the boat. There is a low profile directional keel for improved tracking. The boat is constructed of modified polyester resin for superior blister protection, E-glass woven and knitted fiberglass cloth and numerous coring materials including end-grain balsa, synthetic foam and marine grade plywood. The hull has a sold fiberglass bottom, below the waterline, for rugged service and balsa cored hull sides for exceptional strength and lighter weight. The main stringer system is of fiberglass encapsulating a marine grade plywood core for outstanding shock absorption and rigidity, while the engine beds are a Viking proprietary steel I-beam arrangement, which creates the most rigid foundation possible for the main engines . The deck structure is of similar cored construction as the hull with balsa used to core the deck surfaces. Viking's reputation for quality construction is renowned.

Vessel Walk-Thru
The cabin is entered on center-line from the covered aft deck via three steps. As you enter the salon, you are immediately taken with the large open space that flows freely forward and down into the galley and dinette area. The salon has a large L-shaped sofa to port and single barrel chair to starboard. The space also features built-in cabinets forward, housing the audio and video systems. The salon is beautifully decorated giving the area a comfortable and warm feel. There are large windows port and starboard which allows plenty of natural light to illuminate the space. The entire interior is finished in the finest teak woodwork you are likely to find. The warm honey-brown tone of the wood gives the interior a rich traditional feel, while the design of the joiner-work is classically modern, a look that will always be in-style.

At the forward end of the salon, you descend two steps to find the dinettee to port and the galley to starboard. While this galley is considered as a down arrangement, the space is open and flows easily back into the salon. This allows anyone preparing meals to feel as if they are still connected to the salon activity, while not having to have the galley as a main feature of the salon. It is worth noting that just forward of the full size refrigerator / freeze, you will find a stacked washer & dryer descretly hidden from view in a louvered locker. The dinette is a large U-shaped unit that can seat 4 to 6 people and offers plenty of practical storage beneath. The sole in the galley/dinette area is covered in a very unique laminate flooring material that give the distinctive look of mother-of-pearl and is quite attractive.

Forward of the galley is access to the guest stateroom and guest/day head. The guest quarters feature a island double berth, plenty of drawers and a large hanging locker. The space is beautifully finished in classic teak, while the hull sides are covered in high quality vinyl. There is private access to the forward head. This head has a stall shower, vac u flush WC and a built-in vanity with sink.

The master stateroom is aft and is entered from the salon on the starboard side. The master berth is an island marine-queen on center-line.  The stateroom is framed with built-in teak cabinetry which provides his & her drawers, shelves and bedside tables, port and starboard, a large hanging locker and a small TV nook forward. The master head is very similar in features to the guest head, with vanity, vac-u-flush WC and stall shower.
Salon
Upon entering the salon of "Morgan Marine", your are immediately taken with her open and flowing arrangement. There are larger windows port and starboard which provide plenty of natural lighting and wonderful views. Aft to port is an L-shaped sofa in an off-white ultra-leather, which provides very comfortable seating and will convert into a double berth when the need arises. In front of the sofa is an acyrlic coffee table. At the forward end of the settee is a built-in teak cabinet which houses the stereo system and there is an ottoman with storage inside . Opposite on starboard, you will find another, even larger cabinet which houses the TV and DVD player along with additional storage. Aft on starboard is a single barrel chair in a matching ultra-leather to the sofa and ottoman. Access to the master stateroom is aft on starboard, next the recessed electrical panel. Access to the galley & dinette area is at the forward end of the salon on center-line. The salon is beautifully decorated and immaculately kept.

Broker Comments
Seldom have I known owners to pour so much of themselves into the upkeep and maintenance of a boat. This vessel has been their pride and joy since they purchased her in 1998, from the original owner.

Over the last 13 years, there have been numerous upgrades. Her electronics were updated to Garmin GPS units. In November of 2009, she was painted from the rub rail up with Awlgrip by Huckins Yacht Corp. The windows in the master stateroom were rebuilt, eliminating the sliding panels. The enclosure in the helm and aft deck areas has been replaced. And most recently, a new bimini top was installed in July of  2011. This vessel has been properly maintained by knowledge owners who have not cut corners.

Power is provided by a pair of tried and true Detroit Diesel 6-71TIB enginesmarinized by Johnson & Tower. These are the original engines with original hours and the owner is proud to report that they are running as well as ever. Performance is exceptional with a reported cruising speed of 21 knots at 2,100 rpm and a top speed of 24 knots at 2,500 rpm. Viking reports that fuel consumption at 2,100 rpm is 30 gallons per hour combined, but the owner indicates that over the years, he has averaged about 22 gallons per hour on a full days run at varying RPMs. Either way, the numbers are pretty respectable for a 40,000 plus pound vessel.

I am proud to be able to offer "Morgan Marine" for sale. I believe she is one of the very finest examples of the 44 Motor Yacht available anywhere at any price. Anyone looking to purchase a quality motor yacht in this size and price range, owes it to themselves to see this boat.
